and working out how to arrive at a favorable outcome. It often involves
making optimum use of available resources and enlisting others to achieve an

You've
developed problem solving skills by offering solutions to a specific problem,

Finally, on the subject of self management, I think it helps in motivating employees by giving them a positive outlook on their career.
Problem solving unless it's a sensitive issue much be dealt with care , because indirectly it's also a tool to motivate the employees , if they are involved in it but their views should not be the final decision, rather the manager should consider their view to come up with a good final decision as most employees , don't meet the required par to make good decisions .
ReplyDeleteSelf management , is not for everybody, but the organization must train the employees to manage them selfs this would be useful for lower levels of staff mainly who carry out the most important task of, producing the product.
Problem solving can be a very important element in any business organization and on top of that problem solving is a very vital factor as it has the capacity to slow down a business operation and if failed to solve it then this can lead to huge crises in business organizations. But However having said that the skills utilized to solve problems can vary from one organization to another and moreover the circumstances itself. For example the degree to which each skill is used may also differ. Innovative techniques and solutions will be less preferable by seniors because they would not feel comfortable enough to go ahead with a new solution rather they would stick to more familiar approach which has passed on via generations (this only applies to problems that occur on day to day basis and new problems are exceptional ones though)
